About
Sara Ruffin (RYT-500) is a Tantra Hatha teacher based in Caliifornia. She offers private sessions, weekly group classes, and hosts women’s retreats throughout the year. Sara loves to celebrate the divine feminine in her teachings. Her classes have been described as nourishing, intentional and full of Shakti. Her intention is to provide her students a safe place for them to heal, and feel held. She hopes every student will leave class connected to their own divinity and deep stillness within.
Sara was introduced to yoga at a young age and was instantly mystified by the ancient practice. Over the decades, Sara’s yoga practice became the common thread that wove her formative years together and introduced a “home” within her body. Sara credits yoga for transforming her life and creating steadiness in the mind.
Sara considers herself a student before a teacher. She began studying Jivamukti yoga in San Francisco before moving to Pasadena to study and teach Tantra Yoga. Sara completed her 200 hour teacher training (RYT-200) and 300 hour teacher training (RYT-500) in Tantra yoga with Rene Quenell. Sara continues advanced studies in yoga therapy, yoga nidra, and meditation, with deep reverence for the source of yoga and tradition of the practice.
While off the mat, Sara is a proud wife and mother of two beautiful sons. She also serves on the Building Trust Americas, a nonprofit focused on international philanthropic work. She has returned to Colombia for 12+ years, fundraising and building twelve homes, a sports field, and a children’s park outside Bogota.
